I can’t say how much in the last two months you have been on my mind. I recently moved salons from fantastic sams to great clips in Clermont. I was hired on at Great Clips as an Assistant manager and was asked this past Tuesday if I would like to meet the owner who owns about 36 salons… All great clips of course… my response was YES!!! When I was introduced he asked me how long I had been doing hair and my response was less than 3 yrs. He said “oh my gosh I can’t believe that!!!! I have seen your work on my son really???”  ”Yes,” I said. “I studied at The Salon Professional Academy. He was amazed and then asked if I would cut his hair.  When I was done he asked if I would come to his office on Friday. When I showed up he sat me down and asked me if I would be interested in teaching at the Great Clips educational building… I was very excited and I have to say each time I meet him I just kept thinking something you said to me the last week I was in school: Boom Baby Boom!!!  You also said you never know until you try, so go for it… I can’t say how much this has done for me in the past two month it has given me the courage to try something new.. and become the stylist I truly am…

After going to college and changing my degree three times, I still didn’t know what I wanted to do in life.  The beauty industry allowed me to be who I am and who I want to be!  My favorite part of attended TSPA was the high energy and encouragement I received.  Every day the educators had a smile on their faces and were ready to push me beyond my limits.  TSPA allowed me to be true to myself and encouraged my individuality and creativity.  I was finally in a place that felt like “home” to me.  Not only did TSPA prepare me for my career, I also learned other priceless life lessons.

In high school, my senior project was on a career as a cosmetologist.  I did hair and makeup for a fashion show and I loved it!  Everyone loved my work, so after trying college, I decided to try the beauty industry.  My favorite part of TSPA was the interaction with my guests.  They were so fun and understanding and they would get excited as I grew.  Plus, having clientele already asking for you while you’re in school makes you feel good about your talent.

TSPA changed my life.  It took me from a reactive zone to a proactive zone.  I also had the opportunity to meet some amazing people, like my educators, fellow students and guests.  The TSPA staff trusted in me when I did not trust in myself.  They saw the potential in me and they developed it even when I could not see it for myself.  I was taught, encouraged, disciplined, pushed and loved.  It made me the stylist I am today, and that experience remains priceless to me!

Pursuing a career in the beauty industry was actually never something I had considered even though I have always been a creatively-driven person.  Five years ago I saw a commercial for TSPA and was so impressed with the tour of the facility and the energy of the staff that I had to be a part of it!  It has been amazing.  The true to life experience was invaluable at TSPA.  I
worked on real guests, four days a week for months.  I was well prepared to step into my career and feel confident.  I had total access to TSPA educators and guest educators who have worked and taught in high-paced, elite salon environments for years.
